Dear Parents, Guardians and District Representatives,

The Education Academy staff and I hope you all are well and will have a safe and healthy Holiday Season and Peaceful New Year. I hope you all enjoyed our annual Holiday Newsletter with a snapshot of what the students and staff have been up to so far during this unique school year and time in our community.

I am so very proud to be an educator and to work with such wonderfully supportive families and sending districts as well as a fabulous staff. We all have the same common goal of success for the students we serve. It is with this common goal in mind that The Education Academy Pandemic Response Team continually has done their due diligence. They have monitored not only our surrounding communities but also the extensive reach of districts we service to note COVID 19 exposures and cases of positivity which were then reported to the local and Ocean County Boards of Health. It is clear that a significant increase of positive cases has occurred across all the counties we service. Therefore, in order to keep our students and staff healthy and for the students to continue to move forward with their academic and therapeutic schedules successfully, The Education Academy will remain on all virtual and remote learning through January 18, 2021. Our anticipated first day back to our school building will be January 19, 2021.

Believe me, this has not been an easy decision. The staff and I miss seeing your wonderful children’s smiles within our classrooms, but we must take the numbers and reports seriously when it comes to the health of the people we love the most. Thank you for your continued support and I hope the Holiday Season brings peace and joy to all of you and your families. Please continue to be vigilant with your health and the health of your loved ones.

Respectfully,
Linda A. Phillips
