The entire staff of The Education Academy is thinking about our fellow educators and service providers during this time of unprecedented confusion, anxiety, and fear for all our loved ones. We have always respected your, our educational partners, strength and fortitude and now we continue to do so even more.  We consider you our fellow team members and want you to know that we continue to be here for you and our shared students and their families. If you need to bounce an idea, or are wondering if there might be a different approach to any problems you may be having at this time, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Over the past weeks, I have worked with several fellow school administrators who were seeking input on how to communicate in the most effective ways with their school communities. Having worked with us you all know that our staff is united and works tirelessly to achieve our shared goals of student success both academically and most importantly, socially and emotionally. The school administrators with whom I was working needed help with the social and emotional piece and it was my pleasure to assist. The goal here was to alleviate as much fear, concern, and frustration that their school community was feeling.

As our current situation has no set end date, remember that it will pass and we will have all worked, very hard I might add, to achieve togetherness once again in a world that we as educators have always worked together to make better. I for one cannot wait to hug my staff and you, as I traditionally do, after IEP meetings. I personally cannot wait to not see my staff look like The Brady Bunch on a computer screen and rather have them sitting beside me working on projects. I know you must feel the same.

So, with that in mind, I am reminding you that The Education Academy staff will be taking their scheduled Spring Break beginning on Friday, April 10, 2020, and ending on Friday, April 17, 2020.  All our shared students will resume remote learning on Monday, April 20, 2020.

During Spring Break I will continue checking the school email, and my personal email,   We are already set to continue The Extended School Year Program remotely if need be.  Our Extended School Year for 2020 is set to begin on July 6th and end on August 7th.  Do not hesitate to reach out with a question, a concern or scheduling of an IEP meeting.  We are scheduling IEP meetings now as this current crisis has lasted longer than any of us had thought.  These meetings can be done remotely or phone conference. I wish you and your loved ones well and I mean what I say, we are teammates and teammates stick together.
